I was going through some of my photos looking for one that reminded me of the colors that have started to change with the season. I thought that this scene from my trip to Chengdu really captures them well. It is of Koi pond in one of the gardens I visited. It was feeding time as you can see and the fish were swimming on top of eachother to eat.
We went up to a beautiful wedding this past weekend in the San Juan islands. To start off the adventure we took a seaplane from Kenmore Air in Seattle. We had never flown in a seaplane so we were pretty excited. The best part about it was the pod of orca whales we saw swimming along. The pilot was able to circle a couple of times so we could get a good look. It was a gorgeous day in the PNW. I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the island and particularly liked these two little guys we saw on the docks. It looked like they needed some sunglasses but they definitely had their life jackets on!
This last winter I was lucky enough to visit some family in Chengdu that I had never met before and I had posted some photos from my trip. Following the devastating earthquake I thought I would post just a few photos from my trip of one of the temples that I visited in the hopes to keep this tragedy in everyone’s minds and hearts and remind everyone that there are organizations out there that we can all help the people affected by this disaster. I personally have been supporting MercyCorps. China is a beautiful country with amazing people and culture and I am so thankful to have had the chance to visit when I did.
A few other photos from the trip out East. I thought that all of the oil pumps and tanks were very unexpected, they were all over the place. It is something I did not know Montana was known for or had a lot of. I thought these made for good color in the photos.
This past weekend I was lucky enough to get over to Eastern Montana to where my husband's family homesteaded. It was so amazing to hear all the stories of life in that part of the country and learn about the history of his family. I was taken back by the beauty and the hospitality and am looking forward to our next visit. Here are just a few photos from the trip.
I went to Chicago last week for a training class and to visit with some old friends of mine. We hit up the History Museum and Millennium Park. Some of my favorite photos from the trip are below.

The historical area of Austin is pretty fascinating. This photo was taken from the other end of the Congress Bridge.
We are huge fans of Whistler Canada and have just returned from a weekend up there. I didn't get any good photos this time but it reminded me of this photo I tool last year on Australia Day. It is such a fun time with loads of people dressed in fun outfits and they are all out to have a good time. I love Whistler and the energy it brings to everyone who visits.
While we were in Hong Kong we were able to go to a Thai Boxing match and these were a few of my favorite shots.
